X-Press Redi-Set-Go Inquiry

Last night, from a tv infomercial, I considered ordering an item called "X-Press Redi-Set-Go." It is a cooker that, on the outside, resembles a waffle iron yet cooks all types of foods~~in only minutes~~and is non stick.

Wondering if anyone has any feedback on this small kitchen appliance. TIA.

If you go to the Weight Watcher Web site on the message board and do a search of the X-Press Cooker I think you will get some fed back. From what I've read it has not been good. I too, love to watch that info-mercial.

Comments I remember is that the non stick coating peels. Also google it and there will be other webs to read. Another I also remember was if you order it and aren't careful and request a cookbooklet that you pay for, you will continue to receive them when new ones come out , you will be billed and get them in the mail even if you didn't want them.

I have the original GT 101. Save your money. The coating peels off easily, mine is hard to clean, although the new one the cooking wells come out for easier cleaning.

I have the model. After seeing the infomercial, I had to have one.

Yes, as mentioned before, you have to be careful when ordering, or your going to get a lot more than the cooker. They have a recipie of the month club, a pan of the month club, etc.

I've had mine for about four months. I haven't done a lot in it. I've cooked eggs (turned out great), the cake (stuck so bad, I had to throw it away) and the pizzas. Lately, I have been making only pizzas because I can control everything that goes onto them. I use mine about 4 times a month.

I haven't had a problem with peeling non-stick. If I cook anything with sugar, it will stick and it's hard to clean. I also heard that there is an issue with peeling paint and the timer breaking. I haven't experienced those either. If you contact the ready set go people, they are supposed to replace your unit at no cost to you. I also belong to a yahoo group that Kathy is a part of - that's what she's always saying.

Is it worth $40? No. I would definitely buy another one if the cost were $20 or less.

Thanks to all who have shared their experiences and information with me. It continues to amaze me what a wealth of information can be accessed in our Zone~~only for the asking.

I plan to shop at Walgreens and then decide how to proceed after having an actual look-see at the product.

Anninsd, it was especially nice to see your post and thank you for the link to the Good Sam's info. I fondly remember following your travels by reading a Zone Forum that no longer exists.

I have this, and have used it twice, its not all that they say it is, if I had to do it over, I'd pass. Not worth the money, I went to their website, the pan inserts are 19.99 each, plus shipping, and they won't combine shipping if you order more than one...thats where they make their money..on shipping charges

Save your money for a George Foreman grill IMHO

Uh oh, believe I just changed my mind as to shopping further at Walgreens. Will now be interested in a George Forman Grill and eventually come back with a "wondering" thread in that arena. Not really in the market yet just got caught up in that info-mercial.

I am so grateful that I didn't have to find out all this information by the hard way which is personal experience.

My brain wasn't working right when I first read the title because I thought it said X-Press Redi-Set-Go Injury and when I started to read the post I was surprised to find out you were talking about cookware rather than an exercise gadget.

Obviously I've never heard of this product or seen the infomercial.

French toast
Pot stickers (microwave 1st for 2 minutes wrapped in wet paper towel)
Grilled cheese sandwich
Patty Melt with grilled onions
Tuna Melt sandwich
Steaks
hamburgers
Chicken Breasts
tuna fillets
tilapia fillets
salmon fillets
hash browns
bratwurst
hot dogs
asparagus spears

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but you get the idea. With the weather getting bad now the gas grill is going into storage and old George will be my front line grill.

I've got 3 George Foreman Grills. One at each house and a little original one for traveling that I picked up at Goodwill for $3.

I'm with John....altho I don't have the actual George Foreman grill, I have the equivalent made by Hamilton Beach. I preferred it because the grill pieces are removable for easy cleaning. At the time I got mine, Goerge Foreman did not offer that feature. I use mine several times a week, mainly for grilling Tilapia, turkey chops/cutlets, hash browns, burgers, and did I say Tilapia? hahaha Don't do much red meat steaks in my house. Wore the Teflon out on my first one and got a new one about a year ago. Ordered at Walmart.com and used their "ship to store" feature (that's no shipping costs to you). Don;t think I could live without my indoor grill.

I have the Hamilton Beach grill as well. DH got it for me one Christmas before George Foreman offered the option for removable grids on his grills. I love it - and cleaning it is really easy.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess I might allow a fellow~~only if his name is George Forman~~to live with me after all.

I cook very little and also don't do red meat (from scratch) so had never thought a George Forman would be of value to me. Thanks to you all, I have a different aspect.

Sissy BP how funny about you misreading the title. I find myself equipped to start juicy rumors when such happens in my arena.
