What time is it anyways? How does the time change affect you? My wake up time will stay the same, but I'll be tired earlier.
It will take awhile to get used to it. Let's try not to "fall back" into old habits. In my case, I have to pull myself up by my bootstraps because I already have. I'm not being as judicious in what I eat, and it shows. I'm going to try to "spring forward" in this journey instead! |

No falling back; I need to get back OP and eat the healthy guidelines (fruits and vegs, milks and oils, I seem to get protein in all the time) and move more every day for at least 30 minutes. I need to get back in the losing mode. I went to the doctors for a physical and everything looked fine but my bad choleseterol and glucose were right on the upper borders so she said keep up ww and running and come back in 6 months and see what happens. So I am motivated to get those numbers down and be healthy into my 50s!!
We can do it Beth!!

Hello Snails,
I think I'm one of you, if you know what I mean! I usually enjoy getting an extra hour of sleep each fall, but this year I thought the time change would be the perfect opportunity to get up an hour earlier to get a longer workout at the gym. ![]() LJT ![]() Last edited by LJT; 11-01-2009 at 10:58 AM. |

It's not even 4:30 p.m. and already starting to get dark here. I did enjoy the extra hour in the morning to get things together before we left for church this morning. Another positive point is that the darker it gets in the morning, the longer it takes for the roosters next door to start crowing.
![]() I had to have a root canal on Friday, my first. My mouth is feeling better today, but I am a little paranoid about the fact that my tooth will be more fragile for the next month before they do the build up. It is one of my eye teeth, so if it cracks or falls out it will be pretty ovious. So no hard/crunchie food for me or anything that I have to tear off with my front teeth until December. So much for my apple a day! (unless I plan to do apple sauce or a baked apple). I haven't been doing so well eating wise as I have to adjust to healthy soft food. Haven't been feeling the greatest and was afraid I was coming down with the flu (H1N1 is hitting around here now). Either I had a very mild case or it was something else. I did go to lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in a while yesterday, and did a bit of shopping at the mall as I had a gift certificate from last Christmas that I hadn't spent yet - that was fun. I am trying to get myself set for a really busy week which is ending with DH and I going to Boston for the weekend. We are going to the Celtics game on Friday night and then will poke around for the rest of the weekend. I love Boston! Have a great OP week all!

Hi Snails...
I worked last night from 6PM to 6AM and with that extra hour in there, it really seemed like it was 20 hours instead of 13. Seems like I work this shift every year. I'm never lucky enough to snag the shift where time jumps forward. LOL Kind of a busy week ahead. Staff meeting on Tuesday, working Wed. night. Deciding what to do for next weekend. Still have DD24 car so she can have new snow tires on the front. That's happening tomorrow. I can't wait till I can have my jeep grand cherokee back. Her car just sits too low to the ground, and snow is going to start flying here. DH made doughnuts last night... took them to work. He told me there was no fat in them. Yeah ... right. At least the girls at work enjoyed them. Onward, sweet snails.

Hey Snails!
BethZ, i will spring forward with you i've been on ww sebatical for sometime. there have been some stressful events here, and i have been eating a lot more than i should. but, this will end. i've begun getting some more activity in. i will work on not falling back into those habits. have a wonderful week. ![]() Donna, you can so do it! my blood sugar came way down when i lost 40 pounds. i know that with more weight loss, those numbers will come down more. i began the couch to 5k. you are inspiring to me. i did the 2nd workout yesterday. by the end, i was ready for a nap. hopefully it will get easier as i go. 6 months is a long time. i know that you can do this! ![]() Shelly, i have not been following the program for quite a few months either. but, you are here, and that is so important. i know that we can all do this together ![]() LJT, great job! keep up those gym workouts. they really work ![]() Pat, oh my gosh! do the roosters wake you up in the morning? i hope that your tooth feels much better soon. hopefully you can have some great, soft soup. i hope that you have a great time in Boston! that sounds like a lot of fun! Hi Holly, i have a lot of respect for you for working those tough hours! what work do you do? my brother is a firefighter, and has to work crazy hours like 48 hour shifts. when he comes off of those, he is exhausted! i have never made doughnuts before. i bet they are delicious. so, it's probably a good thing that i've never made them... have a great week!to the rest of the snails, i'm thinking of you all. take care.

Helo Snails-
Had a good weekend at school. On the way to school I found a Dress Barn Outlet store. Dress Barn is my favorite and the outlet was great, 30, 50, and 70% off. I spent a fortune even with the discount. I have been putting off buying clothes because of the weight. Even when I do shop I seldom find anything I like. With my job, I need to look professional. I now have about 6 new blazer, jacket type things. And lots of colors. Normally I am a black and red girl. I have teal, purple, silver, lavender, red and silver, and red and black. A handful of blouses and shells too. I am so excited. I feel like a new woman. Bethz I am ready to get back to it too. I worked outside cutting brush for about 45 minutes today. I'm beginning to feel muscles in my arms...who knew? I hate the new time. It is dark way too early. I am going to fight my way through the winter blues this year. Pat- Hope your mouth heals quickly. see youall soon.

Hi Snails!
I hope that you are having a great week! sally, so great to hear from you. i love the fall season, but i do agree with you about it getting dark earlier. i took our lab for a walk at 6:00 p.m., and it was sooo dark already! she loves her walks. i am glad that you got some beautiful new clothes. there's nothing like new clothes to give you a boost. my oldest son has outgrown almost everything. so, i took him to target this week, and bought him a few new outfits. he modeled his clothes when he got home--he was so proud ![]() Have a wonderful week everyone ![]()

I love the "Fall Forward, not Back" theme! You are so creative in changing up the title of our snail thread Beth!
Ouch, Pat - a root canal! Hope all goes well and that you recover soon! No, they are not fun, but you will no doubt be feeling better when it's all done. My week is going well food-wise, but not so good on exercise. In fact, I've not exercised since the weekend. I will make a better attempt during the second half of the week...maybe if I keep saying "Fall Forward", I'll actually MOVE forward! Worth a try! Doing well on the Food Journal, though. In fact, I'll do today's entry right after I post here. It's late so I'll post again in a few days. And, Donna, I do agree... WE CAN DO IT! ![]() ![]() Babette

Hello everyone-
We worked outside yesterday and I cut down 2 trees all by myself...TaDa. This may sound stupid, but I am loving cutting brush. When I look out my back door I can see that I have accomplished something. Much more satisfying than the tread mill. My arms are getting strong too. It is a good thing to alternate with all the emotional counseling I do with work. A real stress reliever. I have a cancer family right now and it is getting rough. Food wise I am doing ok. My daughter has the book, but I haven't gone over to pick it up yet. Hope all is well with all of you. The forum has been very slow this week.

Happy Saturday, my Snail buddies! I have to get outside today, too. Have some yard work today. Sally, you have inspired me...Sure hope it warms up a tad. At least the sky looks clear. But, my feet are cold
![]() Tomorrow DS17's soccer team starts the WMass playoffs. They scored a home game and are ranked #8 in their division. Wish them luck! ![]() Not doing well on the food or weight loss front. Don't have the gumption right now. Absolutely NO resistance to foods that I shouldn't have. But, as someone else had said, at least a majority of my choices are healthier by habit now.
