Thanks ladies, I am feeling better, and have returned to the kitchen as Chief Cook.
Put some beef stew in the crock pot this morning, and just had it for dinner. Boy was it tasty! Hope you sare are doing better. Hope the family emergencies, and sickness have subsided. Have a wonderful, frugal weekend!

Hello,
I am amazed at my repercussions from reading this thread. Otherwise, I would have never thought of not buying groceries Friday. I did skip and 'lo and behold, haven't been set back a tad foodwise. As I said....amazed, yep !!! ![]() Plans are to continue to eat primarily from the pantry and freezer~~ which I have been neglecting to do. Thanks and ![]() Kay H. Well, I spent a bunch of money today at Costco but most of it will last until the end of the month. The rest of this month's spending should be pretty light, bread, eggs, milk, fresh fruit & veggies. The only splurge will be on the turkey and fixin's for thanksgiving.

I did some grocery shopping today, but saved about $50, and had only bought perishables for the most part last week. Tonight we had beef stew with potatoes and carrots from the garden, and stew beef from the freezer. Used the last onion, so bought some more today. Good stew day here in Massachusetts!

Quick drop in to say I am planning to shop today at my favorite~~Natural Grocers~~and shop conscientiously rather than compulsively. That's a Giant Step for this Gran.
